No pretty pictures (yet) for this post. I’m just trying to get the word out on an upcoming charity fundraiser. On December 2, 2006 – “gem I am” is holding their first Annual Children’s Calendar Pageant at the Polytech Adult Education Conference Center. Located in Dover’s Rt. 10 Plaza, Gem I am is a locally owned and operated store that specializes in fancy dresses (my words) for children and young adults. They sell clothing for First Holy Communions, Weddings, Christenings, Quinceaneras and pageants. The pageant is for children up to 15 years old, and each contestant gets a vote on which of three organizations will receive a donation of the funds raised. It will be one of these: “Stand Up for Kids”, “Love Our Children USA”, or The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Besides the fact that all profits go to a good cause, each contestant will also be getting, among other things…an 8×10″ portrait taken by me, of course!
If you are interested, or know someone who might be – please have them call Crystal or Mildred at gem I am for more info.
